CancerCare Manitoba is the provincial agency responsible for cancer control and blood disorders, including prevention, early detection, care and treatment, research, palliation and education throughout Manitoba. We invite applications for the position of:

A unique opportunity exits for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to contribute to the expanding work of the Radiation Protection Department of the Medical Physics Division at CancerCare Manitoba. Our experienced team is committed to providing a comprehensive radiation protection service and possesses the mandate of a regulatory role in the Province. We deliver a wide range of radiation protection services encompassing ionizing and non-ionizing areas including radiotherapy, diagnostic radiology, radionuclide areas, industry and research and development activities and also present teaching and training programs. You will have scope to broaden your experience in these areas and the opportunity to contribute to development of a comprehensive non-ionizing radiation protection program.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants ideally will have at least eight years practical experience in the field of radiation protection and possess an appropriate MSc degree. Other combinations of education and experience may be eligible for this position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a requirement. Hours of work may vary and some travel may be required. Those with lesser experience may be considered for appointment at the lower end of the salary range.

Winnipeg is a medium sized city of 700,000 with four seasons offering a wide range of cultural entertainment and sports activities. There are three universities, a large community college and a good school system. Excellent facilities for hiking, sailing, canoeing and cross-country skiing are available nearby. Attractive, inexpensive housing can be found close to work, while other costs of living, such as electricity and automobile insurance, tend to be lower in Winnipeg than elsewhere in North America.
