Senate Confirms Bush Nomination of Delores Etter to Navy Post
NERC (North american Electrical Reliability Council) congratulates Board of 
Trustees member Delores Etter on her confirmation as Assistant Secretary of 
Research, Development, and Acquisition for the U.S. Navy. President Bush 
nominated Dr. Etter to the position in early September, and the Senate confirmed her 
nomination on October 28. Dr. Etter will resign from the board upon taking her 
new position.

Dr. Etter, who was elected to the NERC board in 2004, was the first recipient 
of the Office of Naval Research Distinguished Chair in Science and Technology 
at U.S. Naval Academy in 2001. Prior to that, Dr. Etter served as the Deputy 
Under Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology. 

NERC will ask stakeholders for suggestions of candidates to replace Dr. Etter 
and has retained Russell Reynolds to assist in the search. For more
