The Health Physics Society (HPS) Standards Committee has created a
new Web site for the public to help inform people about the work the
HPS does to produce standards.
http://hps.org/hpssc/
The Health Physics Society is secretariat to two Accredited Standards
Committees (ASCs) N13 and N43. The two ASCs, along with the HPS
Standards Committee (HPSSC) and the HPS Standards Coordinator,
constitute the HPS standards organization.
The primary scopes of the respective organizations are:
The HPSSC is concerned with integration among the respective HPS
ASCs and with HPS organizational representation to other national and
international standards organizations. The HPSSC is charged with
prioritizing and publishing HPS Standards.
- list of the current HPSSC members
The N13 ASC is concerned with radiation protection of workers and the
public related to the use, testing, and measurement of radiation.

by members of the HPS and for purchase by non-members

The N43 ASC is concerned with radiation protection aspects of
radiation-producing equipment used in industrial and nonmedical
research and development activities (excluding nuclear reactors).

Standards Committees and download PDF files of the standards in the
Members Only Standards section. ANSI/HPS standards are available to
the general public at prices ranging from $10.00 to $20.00 each.
Please use our HPS/ANSI Standards Order Form (PDF: 16,059 bytes) to
order these standards.
ANSI N42 - Although not directly affiliated with the HPS, this
committee develops standards in the general area of performance
specifications for a wide variety of radiation detection and
measurement instrumentation. These standards are available for
purchase directly from ANSI.
