Charlie et al

I don't know the current situation in DOE labs but it was a PNNL requirement
when I worked at Hanford in the '90's.

FYI, It can be required as part of the bioassay program in all CNSC licenced
facilities in Canada.

I first learned of potential problems with bioassay results when I worked in
the medical research branch at CRNL decades ago. We had to insure that the
bioassay results were not "connected" to the medical results or they became
"unavailvable" for anyone not connected to the medical health of the
employees, even to those that did the measurements.

Subject: [ RadSafe ] Nasal Swabs?

I am trying to determine if there are any Radiation Protection
organizations (i.e., DOE or commercial power) that are allowing their
radiation protection personnel to perform nasal swabs on those persons
who are thought to have an intake of radioactive material? Is this
procedure considered to be a "medical procedure?"

My apologies if this message is repeated!!!

Thanks,
 Charlie
