Call for Papers: 2006 Naturally Occurring Contaminants Conference

National Ground Water Association (NGWA) is now accepting abstracts for 
the 2006 Naturally Occurring Contaminants Conference: Arsenic, Radium, 
Radon, Uranium, and Microorganisms in Albuquerque, New Mexico, February 
6-7, 2006. This event will feature papers and workshops on these four 
naturally occurring elements plus microorganisms, which can pose 
problems to municipal and private water wells. NGWA will convene this 
special conference to provide valuable training on topics ranging from 
geochemistry to treatment technologies.

Abstracts will be accepted on the following topics:

    * Drinking water compliance
    * Challenges for regulators
    * Occurrence in private wells
    * Geochemistry of arsenic, radium, radon, and uranium
    * Pathogenic microorganisms: occurrence, fate, and treatment
    * Point of use (POU) and point of entry (POE) treatment equipment
    * Community system design options, capital, and operating costs
    * Risk assessment and disposal issues related to treatment options
    * Human health effects
    * Global perspective
    * Analytical advances
    * Case studies.

Abstracts are due by October 10, 2005. Abstracts are limited to 300 
words and can be submitted online at
