[ RadSafe ] Myth or Fact? (Dental dose)

Trying to follow this thread I conclude that the best information on 
effective dose from a single dental radiograph is somewhat as follows:

>Entrance skin  4.71 mGy
>Thyroid 0.0215 mGy

The ICRP tissue weighting factor for the thyroid is 0.05 so that the 
effective dose is 0.05 x 0.0215 mGy = 0.001075 mGy = 0.1 mrem.

Therefore, the average normal annual exposure of Americans to ionizing 
radiation from natural and human sources is equivalent to 3600 dental X-rays.
