Dealing with a panic stricken relative and the potential for a PR, if not legal, disaster, I think it was only prudent to send the child to the ER should the relative request it. She is not likely to trust the TSA since they are not experts in health and safety even if they had a CHP on staff. But someone did have a good thought. Couldn't  Mayo clinic with all the great HPs they have on staff and the fantastic reputation as the nations premier health care facility take this on as a Christmas present to the nation and just put out a short press release on the incident and the reasoning behind why there would be a lack of potential effects on the child.

Yes but the crux of the issue is that TSA and their folks on the ground and  
in the terminal and higher up SHOULD have been able to educate the folks on 
the  ground that were involved. It's piss poor communications all over the 
place.
