[ RadSafe ] Thoughts on fear of radiation lawsuit

Regarding the lawsuit story recently posted by Roy P. (thanks, by the way),
I agree with Nick T.'s statement about training. After my initial shock
over the ruling, my first question was, what, if any, training did the
employer provide to their drivers regarding the nature of the hazards they
were facing?

I suspect that if the employer had a decent hazard awareness training
program (heaven forbid) and could document (double heaven forbid) that their
workers were trained on the hazard and how to respond to a spill, then the
lawsuit might have been avoided altogether, or at least the outcome would
have been different, because the stress supposedly suffered by the worker
would have been mitigated.

I'm not saying anyone would be happy about hazardous/nuclear waste being
spilled on them, and wouldn't think they might be entitled to some
compensation for their misfortune, but a claim of 100% disability would be
harder to win.

100% disability... I still can't believe it.

Fear not; this is my last post to Radsafe for a while; time to go back to
workin' & lurkin'.
