There is an article (pp. 48-57) reviewing health risks
associated with fallout from atmospheric nuclear weapons
testing.  The authors seem to be trying to put risks in
perspective in light of the potential fear associated with
the threat of terrorists using nuclear weapons or dirty bombs.

There was also brief mention of non-cancer, radiation
induced, health risks such as cardiovascular disease and
benign neoplasms.

An interesting read.
