  Try making a cell phone call in the vacinity of the monitor. I have seen many monitors that are suseptable to the high frequence radio signals from them.

You need to describe in detail the type of radiation monitor you are using.

Also, tell us what you are trying to detect (e.g., radionuclide(s), gamma,

beta, etc.)

To all,
We have recently installed a new personnel contamination monitor at the
exit of an RCA.  We have experienced several alarms since installation
with no confirmed activity after further investigation.  There is a
theory going around that it may be due to static electricity.  If anyone
has experienced a similar situation and could possibly help me with a
solution if would be much appreciated.
