Down and dirty yuo can do a pH and flame test.? Both tests are simple and tell you most of what you need to know.? pH paper strips will tell you if it is acidic or basic.? Depending on the state you are in you can easily neutralize either.? Th flame test consists of a long Q-Tip dipped into the liquide then exposed to the flame from an alcohol lamp.? With those two tests you can eliminate most of your waste.? Of course process knowledge always is the best.
