Bob, you have hit the head exactly on the nail! All of us in the US are
target-rich. But it is far more satisfying to live on a roller coaster
than on a merry-go-round! Not of my origin, but the following is very
well put:
" Some circumstantial evidence is very strong, as when you find a trout
in the milk. Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid
in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly
proclaiming --
WOW--What a Ride!!!"
Cheers,

I try not to let my mind wander. It's too small to be out by itself.

There is no limit to the variety of scenarios that can be imagined and no way to defend against everything that can be imagined. The only truly safe solution is to cancel the sport.

We will continue to live our lives, defend against what we perceive as credible threats, and try to educate the agressors on the catastrophic consequences of their actions should they do the unimaginable. Short of abandoning life as we have lived it and hiding forevermore, what else is there?
