Yes, Dr. Becker is correct. This is no surprise. Several years ago,
when a strike closed down Chalk River, there were similar cries from the
US that they needed additional sources for contingency planning. Once
the strike was over, that was forgotten.
I do take offence at the comments posted that this has anything to do
with the Canadian Health Care system which I consider to be excellent
and better than the US model. As a medical physicist who has consulted
for many of the Canadian Diagnostic Imaging Centres, I can attest to how
good our system is.
