Fred,

I have read some comments on your message, which are simply not
understandable for me.

To recall the facts: A woman was diagnosed with breast cancer 30 years ago,
treated appropriately by radiation therapy. She died recently. An oncologist
- his expertise not mentioned - claims that she has died as a direct result
of her radiation therapy.

So what? How the oncologist came to the conclusion is more than
questionable, but I think that the testimony of her husband, "that neither
he nor his wife had blamed anyone for what had happened to her" and "that it
gave her 34 years of life" is a wonderful and great confirmation that
radiation therapy might be of very great success. Should there be anybody on
RADSAFE not knowing that?

I do not understand the negative postings.

Best regards,

Franz

Betreff: [ RadSafe ] woman died from the effects of radiation therapy
morethan 30 years after the treatment cured her

The Times reports

A woman died from the effects of radiation therapy more than 30 years
after the treatment cured her of breast cancer, an inquest was told.

Jayne Barrett, an oncologist who was asked to look into the case, said
that Mrs Roper had died as a direct result of being exposed to 4,500
rads

Mrs Roper's husband, Eric, of Priestwood, Bracknell, said that neither
he nor his wife had blamed anyone for what had happened to her. "It gave
her 34 years of life whereas others did not last that long.
