[ RadSafe ] Honeybee die off threatens food supply

One of the interesting findings is that the origianl,
infected bees (and I heard it was a fungus), are
weaked by the infection.  When they fly out to gather
pollen, they are too weak to return. Thus, they are
taking the infectious agent with them.  If the virus
or fungus cannot survive without direct contact with
another bee, the hive becomes safe for new bees to
colonize the hive.

I had heard this irradiation story before, but did not
see that doses they used. I know when the government
started sterilzing the mail in 2001, there were
problems with the material catching five.  It takes
megagray to sterilize for visuses.
