Well stated. And I would add that even if one has thick skin, it is difficult to ignore what one individual can do to those that don't, and what it does to the civility and spirit of RADSAF at large. As far as I'm concerned, we are all part of a professional family, and it is hard for me to accept this kind of behavior within our family. That may sound corny, but I'll bet there are many others in the RADSAF community that feel the same way. Where would RADSAF be if we all made it a practice to criticize each other's countries and politics. It's just plain wrong, and in my opinion the moderator should do something about this chronic problem. It goes on year after year.

It is unfortunate that one person can have such a negative effect on the RADSAFE list. For the last few years, this know it all person, monopolizes the list and irritates other normally rational persons.
I have for years suggested that if you ignore persons of this ilk, they soon crawl back into their holes and are never heard from again.
But as can be seen, some have thinner skin than others, fleas, ticks, and other irritating species have a way of finding their way under that thin skin.
Daily, I see more and more persons no longer on the list primarily as a result of this irritant. I would think the list moderator would take steps to silence his continuing political and spelling dialogue before there are no members left on the list.

Mr. Borisky, (Civ, ARL/ADLO),
This message has nothing to do with the original posting on "Wag the Dog".
It is on the attitude of a very few single persons to influence the RADSAFE policy in way to allow only official pro-US messages and to ban those who oppose it from the list. Come on, we are not in the Stalinist Sovjet Union Era, not in Nazi-Germany! How can you dare to demand a ban of those who oppose yours and Franz Schoenhofer, PhD MinRat i.R.

Sorry, guys, but often it seems that an excessive (dare I say jingoistic?) zealotry from certain US listmembers in defending their country (and an apparent unwillingness to accept a negative statement about this country's actions or attitudes) is often the catalyst....???
No - I say let's stop those that make negative statements about other's countries, which is the source and the instigation. Otherwise we wouldn't have to have this discussion. DOH

Unwillingness to accept a European (or non-US) point of view is no reason to denigrate the person holding that opinion....
And is one of the reasons that the US reputation has suffered in recent years..
But, as Marcel has stated, let's get back to the proper content of the list and limit the "reflex action" postings.
Regards to all!

I agree. Franz seems to always instigatate these exchanges. And yet the moderator never deals effectively with the instigator. Year after year.

The list administrator has declared this thread closed.
However, I cannot help but observe that if Franz would keep his anti-American tripe to himself, these threads would not get started in the first place. The irrational hatred of Bushy is truly a bizarre logical aberration. The notion that CNN likes the Bush administration is just too funny!

Gentlemen,
A heated debate is unavoidable, and often interesting, but the puerile personal attacks are unprofessional and have no place on a technical message board.
BTW - Military service does not make you a political expert, nor does lack of service make you a liberal.

Steven:
Let me start by saying I am damn proud to have served my country and I will damn well wave it around as I see fit. You bleeding heart liberals that hold the armed forces in contempt, sir (and I use that term lightly), are quite despicable. For any American to take the name of the armed forces of this great country in vain in just plain heresy.
Were it not for them, you would not have the right to spew your vile remarks.
I will not lower myself to trading barbs with you over Iraq. Every one of your hero Dem Senators agreed with the same intelligence seen by the President. My remarks were the assertion we, the United States of America, obtain permission from the most corrupt body on the face of the earth (UN) before taking actions to protect our interests is ludicrous.
For the idiot poet (Franz) or you for that matter to suggest that the US has taken or caused more deaths in 5 years than Saddam did in 25 yrs is well...treason.
As far as foreign aid...I make no distinctions as to the country of origin of previously mentioned remarks. You criticize...you get cut off!! So don't let your disdain for Egypt and Israel enter the debate.
As far as Franz being an asset to RadSafe, I'll let the RadSafe masses decide that. Perhaps if he is so special to you the two of you should move in together. Being a Registered Nurse, I do however, suggest you both practice safe sex.
