Dear Franz:

Take a look at
http://www.geoinformatics.vt.edu/server/docs/jjerden/NA99l.htm

This deposit was discovered during the '70s and due in part to the
"suburban" Virginia location, will face some quite tough challenges before
it could ever be developed. There are certainly more nearby "receptors"
than deposits on the Colorado Plateau.

Franz, virtually any metal mining operation in a state as populous as
Virginia (7.6 million - as many as Austria in almost the same land area)
will face tough challenges.

But then, there is a fair likelihood of uranium deposits in the Tauern
"Fenster" in Austria, which exposes "bohemian massif" metasediments &
intrusives similar to uranium-bearing rocks in Czech Republic that are still
being mined (Rožná deposit in the Dolní Rožínka locality in Central
Moravia). Obertauern is a great place to ski!

Dear collegues,

I forward the article cited below - from todays Washington Post - to all of
you, who share my opinion that nuclear power and radiation are hardly any
scientific, but a political (and economic) issue.

Best regards,

Franz
