Dear List members,
I request those who are familiar with Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry and Flat Panel Volume Computed Tomography to give some idea about the radiation doses to the patients who under go these scans. What are the relative costs of the two tools?
A paper to be published in the December issue ofRadiology demonstrates that CT can reveal small changes in bone structure of anorexic children, changes which DEXA cannot. Researchers will be presenting a paper on their findings at RSNA 2008.
Is it not true that Professor John Cameron developed the former technique? Did he develop it into a commercially useful tool or he is just credited with a patent for the idea. Some of us sorely miss his absence from the list.
Regards
K.S.Parthasarathy
