"Of course, the riskiest thing that you could do in the morning is stepping into the shower... (or just getting out of bed)"

Depending on several serious variables that come to mind, getting into bed could really compromise ones health and safety in enduring ways.

I'd bet the drive to work is the scarcest things we do on a continuing basis - dangerous to life and limb that is.

I go to the office (50 miles round) on an Italian racing motorcycle most days and I'm pretty sure that's a certifiably dangerous enterprise. All things considered I'll take the risk. The coefficient of smiles per mile is high.

If you don't think wood dust is a hazard you probably haven't spent much time lately sawing exotic hardwoods - stuff's pretty bad. You'll be looking for a respirator quickly.

And so far as peanut butter goes? Thank God for it. Neither of my children would have made it to puberty without it. Turns out you can run humans with enough peanut butter and good cold milk.

All in fun. Hope everybody is having a good holiday season,

Jess Addis

Ed B. asked: "What's next?"

Since many on this list are also responsible for hazards other than radiation...

Here's the list of all the things that can potentially git`cha:
California's OEHHA Proposition 65 List:

Wood dust was the most recent addition to the carcinogen list -- better send the hazmat crews out to take care of all those woodpeckers. (there is a nasal cancer risk from long term wood dust exposure)

If you start out your day with a cup of herbal diet tea (Aristolochia) and a hearty breakfast with fried potatos (Acrylamide), toast (Acrylamide) and bacon (N-Nitrosopyrrolidine), then you already have four strikes against you... (if you decide to be healthy and have veggies for Breakfast, then you are getting exoposed to Caffeic acid which is on the list as a potential
carcinogen (it is also sold as a supplement as an anti-cancer antioxidant)). [Don't even think of
putting some peanut butter on your toast (Aflatoxins)].

Of course, the riskiest thing that you could do in the morning is stepping into the shower... (or just getting out of bed)
