Interesting suggestion Bjorn.
In fact, my friend Dr. Marvin Herndon recently posted the YouTube video
"Origin of Earth's Magnetic Field"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-V3yR2RZUE
But I find that scientists & engineers tend to prefer Google "Knols" as a
publicity medium.
For example, those by Dr. Alexander DeVolpi, nuclear physicist, author of
the book "Proliferation, Plutonium and Policy":
NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROLIFERATION: A Technical Perspective
http://knol.google.com/k/alexander-devolpi/nuclear-weapons-proliferation-a/1

Please keep us informed on any interesting YouTube videos or Google Knols.
Have you posted any ?
Thanks & happy 2009,
Jaro

Subject: [ RadSafe ] YouTube as a medium for nuclear & radiation issues
Radsafers,
There is plenty of desinformation about nuclear & radiation (including
non-ionizing) on YouTube.
YouTube is a great opportunity for us to contribute with basic facts about
these issues. The anti-nuclear people don’t mention (don´t know?) about
natural radiation and so on but we can help them with those perspectives.
Get yourself a YouTube account, go out there and write what makes sense,
give the videos 1 to 5 stars depending on what seems most appropriate...
It is OK that we write about radiation & nuclear issues here at Radsafers as
well but it is often praying in our own church with little of interface to
the society at large. YouTube is already an important medium that cannot be
neglected.
My personal idea only,
