Carl,

I wouldn't use a scintillation well counter for wipe tests.  If you don't 
need to ID the isotopes either there are better choices.

I have no interest in Ludlum, but I have been using some of their products 
for years - simple, durable and inexpensive.  Something like the instrument 
below or several other iterations that are similar work well for limited 
throughput.
