Colleagues of mine were involved with the 2009 update of the ANSI N43.17
standard and the ISCORS Technical Report 2008-1.  (See the last
paragraph for details.)  They are currently working with the TSA and FDA
in assessing radiation safety aspects of the backscatter x-ray body
scanners used by the TSA.  I discussed Dr. Raabe's post from 24 November
2010 with them.  Our comments follow.
