If all goes according to plan, Atomic Energy of Canada's National Research
Universal (NRU) reactor may be producing medical isotopes this fall. The
message
below is from the Canadian Nuclear Society.
Following a public hearing held on July 5, 2010, in Ottawa, Ontario, the
Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) announced today its decision to
authorize AECL to reload fuel in the NRU reactor and proceed to the restart of
the reactor. The installation is located in Chalk River, Ontario.
