Subject: [ RadSafe ] Cone beam x-ray doses

Much has been written about increased public exposures to medical x-rays.
How about dental x-rays? More & more dentists are using cone beam units for
panoramic images. In fact, a friend is asking me about doses from this
procedure. He's concerned about dose to the thyroid and also to the lymph
nodes in the neck. He thinks the lead apron won't protect those lymph
nodes. Can someone shed some light on this?
