[ RadSafe ] Pilots urged to avoid body scanning

No amount of air port security scanning will stop the suicidal lunatic pilot
who does not need to smuggle anything on to the plane to wreck havoc and it
would not have stopped the Egyptian Air pilot. As a frequent flyer,
observing several security checkpoints per week, no amount of digital strip
searches will make the airlines any safer. It is just that Americans for the
most part feel that the greater the hassle, the greater the level of safety
which is an illogical conclusion. Dumping a 3rd graders back pack so as to
find a 4 oz juice box does not make us any safer.

Israel and other nations more experienced with terrorist attacks have higher
levels of security that preserve the dignity of the passengers and focus on
those who are the greatest threat. The improved digital strip searches would
not have stopped 9-11, and only may have stopped the shoe or underwear
bomber - only better intelligence will. The aggressive "pat downs" that
approach sexual harassment, are simply a tool to accept the lesser of the
two evils via humiliation of the flying public and employee. Recent history
has shown what any flier knows, the problem is not the cabin, it is the
cargo.

Mike, the problem is that there are lunatic pilots that sometimes go crazy.
Recall the Egyptian Air pilot who crashed his 767, as well as other troubled
pilots who had emotional breakdowns prior to and during a flight. I agree
there should be some modification, but whenever a process is relaxed, it can
then be thwarted by those who are very smart individuals.

Regards,

Sandy

On the other hand, I agree with the USAPA spokesman about how silly it
is to apply the same security criteria to pilots as to passengers.
