New FRALC Executive Council
 
During the Eighth Regional Congress on Radiological and Nuclear Safety –
Latin American Congress IRPA (Medellin, Colombia, 11-15 October 2010), it
was carried out the Assembly of the Radiation Protection Federation of Latin
America and Caribbean (FRALC). A new FRALC Executive Council was elected;
Eduardo Medina Gironzini (President, Peru), Josilto de Aquino (General
Secretary, Brazil) and Ana Maria Bomben (Secretary, Argentina) were
appointed unanimously.
Presidents and representatives of Radiation Protection Societies that
integrate FRALC (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay) and
also representatives of Radiation Protection Societies of Paraguay, Bolivia,
Chile and Venezuela, all of them in process of launching, attended the
mentioned Assembly.
The Ninth Regional Congress on Radiological and Nuclear Safety – IRPA
Regional Congress was decided to be held in the city of Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil, from 15 to 19 April 2013. This will be the first time that the
opening of the Regional Congress wil take place on the Radiation Protection
Day in Latin America. It was also agreed that the Tenth Regional Congress
will be held in Argentina, in October 2015.
At last, in addition to other agreements, the FRALC Executive Council
planned the activities for the period 2010 to 2013.
