No, not new. But the car mileages were low an all the carr. I agree about the durt on thefilters, probably increased the pickup by impaction. Will check up on the liquid air people. Good idea. I dont think counted before being placed in vehicle would have been any use. I was counting the Cs134 peak. None of that before Fukushima.

Were the air filters brand new, and counted before being placed into the vehicles? Efficiency changes with age, and a slightly dirty filter is more efficient than a clean one.
It would seem more reasonable to me to contact a company such as Air Liquide to see how things went with them. The company that I work at supplied them with assistance. They were worried about concentrating contamination in compressed gases, including oxygen.
You could look at air compressors around the country, and the contamination on both the intake air filter and in the condensate.
