Ladies and Gentlemen,

This is to let you know of a plum position.

The Veterans Administration is seeking a Radiation Safety Officer for the Audie Murphy VA in San Antonio, Texas.

This RSO position works in a clinical and research environment in the South Texas Medical Center. The Nuclear Medicine department is in the process of being modernized, and the research activities include about fifteen labs and participation in the Radioactive Drug Research Committee at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. The pay is good, and there is a significant recruiting incentive.

To read a bit more about the VA there, go to http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/sba06 The article describes the facility as supporting the Texas Gulf Coast, but those installations have been split off to their own VA System offices. The San Antonio location has one remote site, in the heart of the Hill Country in Kerrville.

The location is on the Northwest side of San Antonio, outside Loop 410, and in a good area of town. The area is just at the beginning of the Texas Hill Country, and is within easy commuting distance of beautiful Hill Country vistas.

There are many attractions there: The Riverwalk and El Mercado, The original Fiesta Texas theme park, SeaWorld, championship basketball, a new University football team, many events, and close to the Gulf Coast and Austin.

Go to www.usajobs.gov and Search for posting KL-11-AHe-524879 . That posting closes at midnight September 1.

In order to apply for this job, you will need to establish an account on that site and spend a little time creating a profile, uploading your resume, and perhaps completing one of their resume forms.
