On the subject of "What's scary to you?" I offer the following.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a German writer and polymath, born in 1749, who is considered the supreme genius of modern German literature. Goethe's works cover the fields of poetry, drama, literature, philosophy, and science.

He is quoted as having said:

"There is nothing so terrifying as ignorance in action."

How true.
Given the depth of anti-intellectual arrogance [in corrupting, distorting, and ignoring scientific facts] and ignorance displayed by most knee-jerk opponents to all radiation technologies, Goethe deserves his accolades as a genius for the ages in saying what topped his list of terrifying things.
