Parents (especially mothers) of children who get leukemia and perhaps
die of leukemia can easily imagine recalling X-rays than will parents
of well children. There is a natural need to assign guilt or to
explain a tragedy.

This type of study can only be done properly by reviewing and
evaluating the medical records of both the cases and the controls..
Of course, that involves a lot more work and requires a competent
radiation dosimetrist.
