Actually, he never said he did any  calculations...He said "he has been studying the issue after someone paid him to do so".  

In Busby-speak, that appears to spend time dreaming up models to link anything "bad" to evil radiation from Nuclear Power and Bombs. (To borrow from Dr. Raabe), these models  "have no relevance to the real world".  

But they probably do cause his adoring public to simper.
