This is a link to "NHK World", which has been providing full day coverage of
the situation.  Japanese officials have been very forthcoming with updates
and the media reports have been quite professional.  (NHK is the Japanese
national broadcaster, equivalent to CBC in Canada, NHK World has English
reports)
