[ RadSafe ] Airlift of backup generators

This did happen. One report indicated that, on units 1 and 3, the
switchgear that the portable generators would be connected to was
underwater. This was not the case for unit 2, which is why it had power
sooner and had cooling for a longer period. Apparently, the portable
generators ran out of fuel at some point. According to one blog entry by
a woman working at the plant, the permanent generators and their diesel
tanks were on the sea-side of the plant. The tanks were destroyed and
were not available to fuel the portable generators.
