[ RadSafe ] Counting Efficiencies for Helgeson (Neutron Products) Whole Body Counter

Hi, Howard;

Yes, I was saddened to read that he has passed on.  I never met Lew, but I spent
a lot of time with his body counters.  Folks always said he was a great guy and
I would have liked to have met him.

Thanks for the info.

Jim

Whole Body Counter

Jim,
Lew Helgeson, who passed away recently, was a personal friend and patient.
His lead well was stored where I now live, and his assistant, Eagan, lived here.

As I recall, negligible radiation ( except neutrons) got through the lead
bricks,
suggesting  near 100% "efficiency" for how much of detected radiation
came from the person in the well.
