I remember a few years back having to correct a prominent British left MP during a meeting about the war in Yugoslavia when he stated that the fact the Yugoslavs had used
wooden dummy tanks to fool NATO aircraft meant that NATO 'use of DU' (for which there was no actual evidence) would have caused even more effects than during the first Iraq war (for which there was also no evidence of DU use). He obviously only believed what he wanted to and had never done any actual research into the issue himself.
I'd had a certain amount of respect for him before that, but none afterwards.

It is a shame that none of the people who claim that DU was used in
Fallujah have bothered to take a survey instrument with them, and plot
where the projectiles hit. It should be easy, if there is as much DU as
they say there is. They should be able to find a fair number of intact
projectiles, as most of the town isn't hard enough to cause them to
burn.
