[ RadSafe ] Industry Convention in 1961

What was the convention for Cs137 encapsulation back in 1961?  If a person has a 250 Ci source in an irradiator would the source material most likely be a "pressed pellet" of CsCl?  Would the encapsulation material be Stainless Steel and how thick might it be?  I have asked these questions of some of the source manufactures but no solid information yet.  The source was sold by US Nuclear of Burbank California.
