[ RadSafe ] Radioactive Man

At this point, I would say that his greatest risk comes from being alone. Any number of relatively minor injuries become fatal when you are alone, and no one will be by for a couple of days. Something as minor as throwing your back out or a mild concussion can lead to death.

Dear Jess Addis,

Some calculation comparing risks shows that 20 cigarettes per day is equal to 50 REM/year

I noticed that Radioactive Man looks happy as he smokes cigarettes in the photos.

Personally, I'd worry more about the habit rather than 6 rem/year.

If I did the arithmetic correctly the 7 microSieverts per hour translates to
6 Rem/year. How does this compare with the high natural dose rates in Iran for example?

This is an interesting article.  It is generally well-written.
