[ RadSafe ] Problems with LNT

There are other problems with LNT in addition to the misuse of 
collective dose, and the encouragement it gives to radiophobe grandstanders:

That is the fact that it supports 'capture' by regulation of material 
which has activity concentration as low as 1 Bq/g.

This causes serious problems both in restriction of commerce and trading 
of commodities.

And both dose and specific activity concerns 'unbounded towards zero' 
generate excessive concerns around site cleanup situations.


There should be 'hard cutoffs' which set de minimis levels at no lower 
than 0.3 mSv/yr for Members of the Public, recognising that natural 
background worldwide gives 2 or 3 mSv/yr; and 'definition of 
radioactive' lower cutoff at something like 2 or 3 or 5 Bq/g, 
recognising that K-40 is 30 Bq/g...
