The Japanese are pretty big on carbon ions, and someone in the USA, maybe
MD Anderson, is picking up the gauntlet.

Are there any accelerators out there that can do/are doing heavy ion
teletherapy?

At LBL this was being tested with ions as heavy as Nitrogen and no lighter
than alphas. But the Bevatron, and that line of research there, is long
gone.
