Dear Radsafers,

regarding the question about z-backscattering screening systems and dose
associated for such systems, ANSI/HPS N43.17-2009 "*Radiation Safety for
Personnel Security Screening Systems Using X-Ray or Gamma Radiation*"
indicates the maximum dose per scan for different class systems. The ANSI
standard talks about an array of GM detectors (a "wand") to locate "hot
spots" and then, perform the dose measurements with a hig efficiency
calibrated ionization chamber. The standard says there are at least two
commercial GM "wand" systems for surveying cabinet x-ray systems. Could you
inform me about such "wand" systems availability and what ionization
chamber models are usually used to verify ANSI N43.17 standard?
