 There is a wind farm at Bruce and windmill at Pickering.  Problem is that the gear boxes are electrically heated, and the blades are electrically heated to stop icing, and to prevent a LOB (Loss of Blade) accident.  So in the winter, when most electricity is needed, the windmills often have a net loss.  And Bruce has lost three windmills to lightening strikes.

But the province made a commitment to wind.
