Dear Dr Carl Marcus,

Recently, the Center for Public Integrity reported that the present NRC
may rule favorably to what you and others wanted in the "SARI petitions"

Even with the support of best of science, final decision on risk -related
matters will depend on "judgement" of specialists followed by the support
of political decision makers. Unfortunately, the discourse on the effects
of radiation got colored by conspiracy theories, possible conflicts of
interests and other matters outside the realm of science.

Every one seems to ignore a crucial factor : the importance of imparting
credible information. In the "no-holds-bar' controversies public had no
role. You advocated using the media as a last resort to force an anti-LNT
decision ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5102073/). I
believe that there is a consensus that accurate effects (harmful or
beneficial) of low level radiation are un-provable!

In an earlier message you stated thus:

The NRC hasn't done squat. It is 3 1/2 years, and they are still
"studying" it..

Do you believe that in the changed political environment, there will be some
light at the end of the tunnel favoring what SARI wants?
Cheers
Parthasarathy
