I was a principle in NORM Instruments back in the day.
If memory serves me correctly, the test source is potassium chloride (salt substitute).
We also calibrated the instruments on the calibration pads in Grand Junction.

Subject: [ RadSafe ] RadInSoil
Classification: Saudi Aramco: Company General Use
We have a RadInSoil instrument manufactured by NORM Instruments & Services Inc. of Grand Junction, Colorado. We also have the associated "test source" but with no associated information, does anyone have the info on the "test source"?
The Test source itself is housed in a small red plastic box attached to a wooden tray. Any info greatly appreciated.
