DOE technical standard on Internal Dosimetry

A new U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) technical standard, Internal Dosimetry, is
now available in .pdf (portable document format) on DOE's Radiation Protection
web site (http://tis.eh.doe.gov/whs/rhmwp/ts.html). This document provides
guidance for performing internal dose assessments consistent with requirements
in 10 CFR 835. For more information, contact Dr. Judith Foulke at (301)
903-5865.

In my opinion, this document does not "reinvent the wheel," but serves to fill
in technical details not covered by 10 CFR 835, the Guide Series
(http://tis.eh.doe.gov/whs/rhmwp/441-1-3.pdf is the Internal Dosimetry Guide),
and national consensus standards such as HPS/ANSI N13.30-1996, Performance
Standard for Radiobioassay.

The standard contains much technical guidance on measurements of radon and
thoron and their decay products in air not found elsewhere.
