Re: Plutonium Shipment -Reply

The funny thing is that once this shipment
(119 g of Pu as MOX fuel rods for Candu
reactor) crossed into Canada, the
Canadians put it in a helicopter and flew it
to Chalk River ... they said they were
responding to the people, who had said
that if it was so safe, why didn't they just fly
it in? Just imagine that ... a "classified
shipment" using a Safe Secure Transport
(SST) in the US, crossing the Canadian
border, and then the contents of the SST
being loaded into a helicopter.

Boggles the mind, doesn't it?

P.S. Just wait until the public figures out
how much weapons-grade Pu (50 tons) is
going to be moving to SRS for
"disposition", and how it's going to get
there.

``Because of the input of the people of
northern Michigan, we've had much
greater safety and
security on the shipment and it arrived
safely,'' Stupak said. ``Without
our objections, those extra
safety precautions never would have take
place.''

Thank god they raised a big stink about it!
Otherwise, I'm sure it would
have been put in a coffee can and bungee
corded to the back of some Hells
Angel's Harley. What a bunch of morons!
I wonder what they would say if
they knew how many SNM movements
take place in the US every year.
