Police Raid Japanese Nuclear Accident Site

TOKYO (January 18, 2000 10:27 a.m. EST  - Police on Tuesday raided the site
of Japan's worst nuclear accident in search of evidence of alleged
negligence by plant managers. 

Kenji Tanimura, a police spokesman, refused to provide details of the raid
at the plant run by JCO Co. in Tokiamura, 70 miles northeast of Tokyo.
