Senior HP Technician positions open at UCSD



Dear Radsafers,

Two Senior Health Physics Technician positions are currently open at the
University of California, San Diego (UCSD). More information follows:

POSITION: Senior EH&S Technician (100% Career)
SALARY RANGE: $2775-$3341/month
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for many of the daily aspects of the Radiation
Safety Program. Perform lab audits of radioactive user's facilities. Inspect
laser, microwave producing equipment, and EMF emitters. Perform wipe tests
on sealed sources. Operate the isotope shipping and receiving lab. Conduct
bioassays, calibrate and inventory survey instruments, and gather and count
environmental samples. Respond to emergencies and spills.
QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of California Radiation Control Regulation
and U.S. DOT regulations relative to the control, use, shipping, and
receiving of radioactive materials, radiation dosimetry and shielding, and
contamination control.  Working knowledge of the Broadscope Type A
Radioactive Material license. Knowledge of an audit process and ability to
conduct lab audits. Basic radioisotopes handling techniques. Skill to
perform radioisotope measurement/analysis. Computer skills to use complex
software and databases. Ability to organize work, work independently, and
exercise good judgment, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
