Where is the solution? Re: Moble Chernobyl

Greetings,

While I lived in Michigan, I was a witness of Spent Fuel debates and actions
of "Michigan Defense." At that time it was an action not to allow to store
casks with SF in the storage by Lake Michigan because the casks are so
heavy?? that it would be impossible to retract them out when Yucca Mountain
Storage will be ready........
Now trend is not to allow to transport and to dispose.
So what is the point?
The point is:
There are could be and should be many debates on what is the safe
transportation or disposal but in the end of the day the "movement's"
position is abstractive in its base. "No Nuclear Power", keep citizens as a
hostages, exploding radiophobia for their political gain.
They do not propose any solution but want to abuse fears among the public.
It is very comfortable position to be in. To gain a political power, by using
the fears and keep it, because the issue is there and will be there ALWAYS if
there won't be any actions done. I have feeling that I already have heard
this story before.....

I am curious, what will think those citizens when they will learn that they
are kept as hostages, because of the power plants design to keep spent fuel
for the certain time only (30-40 Max years)? So any other reasonable storage
is better!
We can spend a lot of time by talking about the attitudes of the Past Nuclear
Industry Developers, but this won't make any difference NOW. They did what
they thought is okay in that time. We need to learn and do what we think is
good NOW.
Personally, I am for the clear environment and I do have personal reasons to
develop Nuclear Power as an alternative source of energy. At the same time, I
can't see when somebody is pushing abstractive in its base ideas.
There should be solution and there is a solution. Open minded without
hysterical rhetoric discussion.
In the main time, I propose to ship a small portion of the waste and see how
it will go, closely monitor waste conditions at the storage and if there are
problems find another alternative.
Well, I am not a US citizen yet. So it is just a......an idea to consider.

<< * Protect groundwater at Yucca Mountain and all nuclear sites.
 * Radiation standards should protect the most vulnerable exposed persons
 - the unborn children.
 * 10,000 years compliance is not enough; these wastes remain deadly for
 hundreds of thousands of years.
 * These bills would needlessly endanger over 50 million Americans living
within half a mile of atomic waste transport routes.
  >>

Sincerely.

Emil.
