Question about Shipping

1. If Bob and Sons Transport does not transport a package whose surface
radiation level exceeds 200 mrem/hr or whose Transport Index exceeds
10 mrem/hr then the "exclusive use" conditions of 173.441(b) are not
    invoked; and

2. If Bob and Sons Transport does not transport unpackaged (bulk)
shipments of Low Specific Activity materials pursuant to 173.425(c)
then the "exclusive use" conditions of 173.425(c) and 173.441(b) are
    not invoked; therefore

3. The DOT regulations do not require any radiation survey prior to
transport of other commodities in the vehicle.

4. The mere fact that Bob and Sons Transport may be transporting only
your commodities during the week days does not in its self invoke
the "exclusive use" criteria specified in 173.425(c) and 173.441(b).

5. Only the transport of (1) a package whose surface radiation level
exceeds 200 mrem/hr or (2) a package whose Transport Index exceeds
10 mrem/hr or (3) unpackaged (bulk) Low Specific Activity materials
    invoke the "exclusive use" criteria.

6. If the "exclusive use" criteria is invoked then 173.443(c) and
177.843 are applicable as previously pointed out.
