Re: Electronic records
The California requirement is to maintain records for three years after the
survey/test was made (with a few exceptions). The only requirement is that
they are made available and accessable during the State inspection of the
radioactive materials license. It matters not what the media of storage is..
Some facilities store their camera QC on disk, and as long as they are
retreivable, it is acceptable. Remember however, that should the records not
be available during the inspection (going back w years) because of a problem
with the storage media (disk or tape), the inspection agency looks at this as
a documentation violation and/or a test performance violation, depending on
the details, etc. Most radiopharmaceutical companies now provide computer
systems for documenting daily QC, surveys, package receipts, etc. All
acceptable, if retreivable. ADVICE: BACK EVERYTHING UP....DAILY.
